Hadith 4277

حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ اللَّهِ بْنُ بَكْرٍ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا سَعِيدٌ ، قَالَ أَبِي : وَقَرَأْتُ عَلَى يَحْيَى بْنِ سَعِيدٍ : ح عَنْ هِشَامٍ ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ ، عَنْ خِلَاسٍ ، وَعَنْ أَبِي حَسَّانَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عُتْبَةَ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، أَنَّ ابْنَ مَسْعُودٍ أُتِيَ فِي امْرَأَةٍ تَزَوَّجَهَا رَجُلٌ فَلَمْ يُسَمِّ لَهَا صَدَاقًا ، فَمَاتَ قَبْلَ أَنْ يَدْخُلَ بِهَا ، قَالَ : فَاخْتَلَفُوا إِلَى ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ . . . فَذَكَرَ الْحَدِيثَ إِلَّا أَنَّهُ قَالَ : كَانَ زَوْجُهَا هِلَالَ ، أَحْسَبُهُ قَالَ : ابْنَ مُرَّةَ . قَالَ عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ : وَكَانَ زَوْجُهَا هِلَالَ بْنَ مُرَّةَ الْأَشْجَعِيَّ .
Abdullah bin Utbah says that once some people came to Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) and asked this question: If a person marries a woman, does not fix the dowry, and dies before consummation, what is the ruling? . . . . . Then the narrator mentioned the entire hadith and stated that the name of her husband was Hilal.
