Hadith 4268

(حديث قدسي) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ عَمْرٍو ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنَا زَائِدَةُ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْهَجَرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ يَفْتَحُ أَبْوَابَ السَّمَاءِ ثُلُثَ اللَّيْلِ الْبَاقِي ، ثُمَّ يَهْبِطُ إِلَى السَّمَاءِ الدُّنْيَا ، ثُمَّ يَبْسُطُ يَدَهُ ، ثُمَّ يَقُولُ : أَلَا عَبْدٌ يَسْأَلُنِي ، فَأُعْطِيَهُ ؟ حَتَّى يَسْطَعَ الْفَجْرُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When the last third of the night remains, Allah, in a manner befitting His Majesty, descends to the lowest heaven. The gates of the heavens are opened, and Allah spreads out His hands and says: 'Is there anyone who asks so that his request may be granted?' And this continues until the break of dawn."
