(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْد اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَرَأْتُ عَلَى أَبِي : حَدَّثَنَا عَلِيُّ بْنُ عَاصِمٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ الْهَجَرِيُّ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِيَّاكُمْ وَهَاتَانِ الْكَعْبَتَانِ الْمَوْسُومَتَانِ ، اللَّتَانِ تُزْجَرَانِ زَجْرًا ، فَإِنَّهُمَا مَيْسِرُ الْعَجَمِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Protect yourselves from playing with those dice games (which are called nardshir, chess, or barah tani) that have markings and are forbidden, for these are the gambling games of the non-Arabs."
