Falfala Jafi says that I was also among those who, feeling anxious about the Qur'anic manuscripts, went to the service of Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him). We entered his house, and one of us said, "We have not come to visit you at this time; rather, we have come to you in anxiety after hearing the news (that all copies of the Noble Qur'an except those prepared by Sayyiduna Uthman Ghani, may Allah be pleased with him, are to be destroyed)." Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said, "This Qur'an was revealed to your Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) upon seven doors, in seven letters (modes of recitation), whereas the previous books were revealed through one door, in one letter. (Therefore, there is flexibility in our Book that was not present in the previous books, so there is no need for us to be anxious.)"
