(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَمَّارِ بْنِ مُعَاوِيَةَ الدُّهْنِيِّ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ الْأَشْجَعِيِّ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " ابْنُ سُمَيَّةَ مَا عُرِضَ عَلَيْهِ أَمْرَانِ قَطُّ إِلَّا اخْتَارَ الْأَرْشَدَ مِنْهُمَا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: "Whenever two things were presented before Ibn Sumayyah, he would choose the one which was more guided and rightly directed among them."
