Hadith 4239

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنْ الْحَكَمِ ، عَنْ مُجَاهِدٍ ، عَنْ أَبِي مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ قَالَ : سَمِعْتُهُ مَرَّةً رَفَعَهُ ، ثُمَّ تَرَكَهُ ، رَأَى أَمِيرًا أَوْ رَجُلًا " سَلَّمَ تَسْلِيمَتَيْنِ ، فَقَالَ : أَنَّى عَلِقَهَا ؟ " .
Abu Ma'mar says that once Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) saw a governor or a common man saying salam (salutation) twice (at the end of prayer), so he said: Where have you hung it?
