Hadith 4148

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو مُعَاوِيَةَ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ أَبِي وَائِلٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ قَسْمًا ، قَالَ : فَقَالَ رَجُلٌ مِنَ الْأَنْصَارِ إِنَّ هَذِهِ الْقِسْمَةَ مَا أُرِيدَ بِهَا وَجْهُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : يَا عَدُوَّ اللَّهِ ، أَمَا لَأُخْبِرَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ بِمَا قُلْتَ ، قَالَ : فَذَكَرْتُ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَاحْمَرَّ وَجْهُهُ ، وَقَالَ : " رَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ عَلَى مُوسَى ، قَدْ أُوذِيَ بِأَكْثَرَ مِنْ هَذَا فَصَبَرَ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) distributed some things. An Ansari said, "This distribution is such that seeking Allah's pleasure was not intended." I said to him, "O enemy of Allah! The thing you have said, I will surely inform the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) about it." So I mentioned this to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), upon which the color of his blessed face turned red. Then he said: "May Allah's mercy be upon Musa; he was troubled with even more than this, but he remained patient."
