Hadith 4128

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ مَهْدِيٍّ ، عَنْ شُعْبَةَ ، عَنِ السُّدِّيِّ ، عَنْ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : وَإِنْ مِنْكُمْ إِلا وَارِدُهَا سورة مريم آية 71 ، قَالَ : " يَدْخُلُونَهَا أَوْ يَلِجُونَهَا ، ثُمَّ يَصْدُرُونَ مِنْهَا بِأَعْمَالِهِمْ " ، قُلْتُ لَهُ : إِسْرَائِيلُ حَدَّثَهُ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ؟ قَالَ : نَعَمْ ، هُوَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، أَوْ كَلَامًا هَذَا مَعْنَاهُ .
Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) says that the meaning of "every one of you will enter Hell" is that he will enter it, and later will come out of it according to his deeds. The narrator says: I asked, is this narration attributed to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)? The teacher replied: Yes! This is a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him), or he said a similar statement.
