(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، وَعَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، المعنى ، وهذا لفظ وكيع ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ الْجَزَرِيِّ ، عَنْ زِيَادِ بْنِ أَبِي مَرْيَمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ مَعْقِلٍ ، أَنْ أَبَاهُ مَعْقِلَ بْنَ مُقَرِّنٍ الْمُزَنِيّ قَالَ لِابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ : أَسَمِعْتَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ يَقُولُ : " النَّدَمُ تَوْبَةٌ ؟ " ، قَالَ : نَعَمْ " .
Abdullah bin Ma’qil says that once I was present with my father in the company of Sayyiduna Ibn Mas’ud (may Allah be pleased with him). My father asked: Did you yourself hear the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) saying, “Remorse is also repentance”? He replied: Yes!
