Hadith 4022

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي الْأَحْوَصِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ مَسْعُودٍ ، قَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ الْعَبْدَ لَيَكْذِبُ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عند الله كَذَّابًا ، أَوْ يَصْدُقُ حَتَّى يُكْتَبَ عند الله صِدِّيقًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) say: "A person continues to speak the truth until he is recorded with Allah as a 'truthful one (Siddiq)', and likewise, a person continues to tell lies until he is recorded with Allah as a 'liar (Kadhdhab)'."
