Hadith 3971

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، فِي قَوْلِهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ : مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَى سورة النجم آية 11 ، قَالَ : " رَأَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جِبْرِيلَ فِي حُلَّةٍ مِنْ رَفْرَفٍ ، قَدْ مَلَأَ مَا بَيْنَ السَّمَاءِ وَالْأَرْضِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud, may Allah be pleased with him, regarding the interpretation of this statement of Allah, the Exalted: « ﴿مَا كَذَبَ الْفُؤَادُ مَا رَأَى﴾ » [النجم : 11] "The heart did not lie [about] what it saw," that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, saw Jibreel, peace be upon him, in a fine silk garment, filling all the space between the heaven and the earth.
