Hadith 3942

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا حَمَّادٌ ، عَنْ حَمَّادٍ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ يَزِيدَ ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ مَسْعُودٍ " اسْتَبْطَنَ الْوَادِيَ ، وَاعْتَرَضَ الْجِمَارَ اعْتِرَاضًا ، وَجَعَلَ الْجَبَلَ فَوْقَ ظَهْرِهِ ، ثُمَّ رَمَى ، وَقَالَ : هَذَا مَقَامُ الَّذِي أُنْزِلَتْ عَلَيْهِ سُورَةُ الْبَقَرَةِ " .
Abdur Rahman bin Yazid says that Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) stoned the Jamrah 'Aqabah from the bottom of the valley, keeping the mountain behind his back, and after stoning he said: This is the place where Surah Al-Baqarah was revealed to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him).
