Hadith 3940

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ سَعِيدٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَجْلاَنَ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي عَوْنُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ عَبْدُ اللَّهِ : إِذَا حُدِّثْتُمْ عَنْ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ حَدِيثًا ، " فَظُنُّوا بِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ الَّذِي هُوَ أَهْيَاهُ وَأَهْدَاهُ وَأَتْقَاهُ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When a hadith of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) is narrated before you, then think of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) in a manner that is based on correctness, guidance, and piety.
