Hadith 3926

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا أَسْوَدُ بْنُ عَامِرٍ ، أَنْبَأَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، قَالَ : ذَكَرَ أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ أَبِي عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " مَرَّ عَلَيَّ الشَّيْطَانُ ، فَأَخَذْتُهُ ، فَخَنَقْتُهُ ، حَتَّى إِنِّي لأَجِدُ بَرْدَ لِسَانِهِ فِي يَدَيَّ ، فَقَالَ : أَوْجَعْتَنِي ، أَوْجَعْتَنِي " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Once Satan passed by me, I caught him and began to strangle him, his tongue came out until I felt the coolness of his tongue on my hand, and he began to say, 'You have caused me great pain, great pain.'"
