Hadith 386

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا رَبَاحُ بْنُ أَبِي مَعْرُوفٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي مُلَيْكَةَ ، سَمِعَ ابْنَ عَبَّاسٍ ، يَقُولُ : قَالَ لِي عُمَرُ : سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، يَقُولُ : " إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ لَيُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that I heard the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) say: The deceased is punished because of the weeping of his family over him.
