Hadith 3846

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، عَنْ أَبِي إِسْحَاقَ ، عَنْ خُمَيْرِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : " قَرَأْتُ مِنْ فِي رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ سَبْعِينَ سُورَةً ، وَإِنَّ زَيْدَ بْنَ ثَابِتٍ لَهُ ذُؤَابَةٌ فِي الْكُتَّابِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that I have recited seventy surahs after hearing them from the blessed mouth of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and Sayyiduna Zaid bin Thabit (may Allah be pleased with him) was among the scribes of revelation who had sheep.
