Hadith 383

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا هِشَامُ بْنُ عُرْوَةَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عَاصِمِ بْنِ عُمَرَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِذَا جَاءَ اللَّيْلُ مِنْ هَهُنَا ، وَذَهَبَ النَّهَارُ مِنْ هَهُنَا ، فَقَدْ أَفْطَرَ الصَّائِمُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When night comes from here and the day departs from there, then the fasting person should break his fast; by this, east and west are meant."
