Hadith 3810

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that on the occasion of Laylat al-Jinn, I was with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said to me: "Abdullah! Do you have any water?" I replied, "No." The Prophet (peace be upon him) asked, "What is in this vessel?" I replied, "Nabeedh (a drink made from dates or raisins soaked in water)." The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "Pour it over my hands." The Prophet (peace be upon him) performed ablution with it and said: "O Abdullah bin Mas'ud! This is both a drink and a means of purification." Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) led us in prayer after performing ablution with it.
