It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day I was present in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Recite the Qur'an to me." I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should I recite it to you while it has been revealed to you? He said: "Yes, but I like to hear it from someone other than myself." So I began to recite, and when I reached this verse: « ﴿فَكَيْفَإِذَاجِئْنَامِنْكُلِّأُمَّةٍبِشَهِيدٍوَجِئْنَابِكَعَلَىهَؤُلَاءِشَهِيدًا﴾ [النساء : 41]» "How will it be when We bring from every nation a witness, and We bring you as a witness over them all," I saw that the eyes of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were flowing with tears.
