(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى ، عَنْ سُفْيَانَ ، حَدَّثَنِي سُلَيْمَانُ ، عَنْ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، عَنْ عُبَيْدَةَ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ سُلَيْمَانُ : وَبَعْضُ الْحَدِيثِ عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ قَالَ : وحَدَّثَنِي أَبِي ، عَنْ أَبِي الضُّحَى ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ ، قَالَ : قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " اقْرَأْ عَلَيَّ " ، قَالَ : قُلْتُ : أَقْرَأُ عَلَيْكَ ، وَعَلَيْكَ أُنْزِلَ ؟ قَالَ : " إِنَّنِي أُحِبُّ أَنْ أَسْمَعَهُ مِنْ غَيْرِي " فَقَرَأْتُ ، حَتَّى إِذَا بَلَغْتُ فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَى هَؤُلاءِ شَهِيدًا سورة النساء آية 41 ، قَالَ : رَأَيْتُ عَيْنَيْهِ تَذْرِفَانِ دُمُوعًا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that one day I was present in the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), and he said: "Recite the Qur'an to me." I said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Should I recite it to you while it has been revealed to you? He said: "Yes, but I like to hear it from someone other than myself." So I began to recite, and when I reached this verse: « ﴿فَكَيْفَ إِذَا جِئْنَا مِنْ كُلِّ أُمَّةٍ بِشَهِيدٍ وَجِئْنَا بِكَ عَلَى هَؤُلَاءِ شَهِيدًا﴾ [النساء : 41]» "How will it be when We bring from every nation a witness, and We bring you as a witness over them all," I saw that the eyes of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) were flowing with tears.
