It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Mas'ud (may Allah be pleased with him) that once some people asked: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Will we be held accountable for the deeds committed during the time of ignorance? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "When you accept Islam and adopt good deeds, then you will not be held accountable for the deeds of the time of ignorance, but if you continue to do evil deeds after accepting Islam, then you will be held accountable for both the former and the latter deeds."
