ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3545

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ ، أَنْبَأَنَا ثَابِتٌ . وَحَسَنُ بْنُ مُوسَى ، حَدَّثَنَا ثَابِتٌ ، قَالَ : حَدَّثَنِي هِلَالٌ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنْ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ " أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ كَانَ يَبِيتُ اللَّيَالِيَ ، قَالَ عَبْدُ الصَّمَدِ : الْمُتَتَابِعَةَ ، طَاوِيًا ، وَأَهْلُهُ لَا يَجِدُونَ عَشَاءً ، وَكَانَ عَامَّةُ خُبْزِهِمْ خُبْزَ الشَّعِيرِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) would spend several consecutive nights with an empty stomach in such a way that the members of his household would not have dinner at night, and most often, when they did get something to eat, it would be barley bread.
