ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3521

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ ، عَنْ يَعْقُوبَ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ مَاتَتْ شَاةٌ لِمَيْمُونَةَ ، فَقَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " هَلَّا اسْتَمْتَعْتُمْ بِإِهَابِهَا ؟ " فَقَالُوا : إِنَّهَا مَيْتَةٌ . فَقَالَ : " إِنَّ دِبَاغَ الْأَدِيمِ طُهُورُهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a goat belonging to Sayyidah Maymunah (may Allah be pleased with her) died. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Why did you not benefit from its skin?" She said: "It is dead (carrion)." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tanning purifies the skin."
