ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3500

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رَوْحٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَكَرِيَّا بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَمْرُو بْنُ دِينَارٍ ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عِكْرِمَةَ يَقُولُ : كَانَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ يَقُولُ : وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ سورة الإسراء آية 60 ، قَالَ : " شَيْءٌ أُرِيَهُ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْيَقَظَةِ ، رَآهُ بِعَيْنِهِ حِينَ أُسْرِيَ بِهِ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ " .
Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both), in explanation of the following verse: «﴿وَمَا جَعَلْنَا الرُّؤْيَا الَّتِي أَرَيْنَاكَ إِلَّا فِتْنَةً لِلنَّاسِ﴾ [الإسراء : 60]» "And We did not make the vision which We showed you except as a trial for the people," says that what is meant by this is that which was shown to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) with his eyes while awake during the Night of Ascension (Mi'raj).
