ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3483

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّزَّاقِ ، حَدَّثَنَا مَعْمَرٌ ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْكَرِيمِ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، قَالَ : قَالَ ابْنُ عَبَّاسٍ : قَالَ أَبُو جَهْلٍ : ولَئِنْ رَأَيْتُ مُحَمَّدًا يُصَلِّي عِنْدَ الْكَعْبَةِ ، لَأَطَأَنَّ عَلَى عُنُقِهِ ، فَبَلَغَ ذَلِكَ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَ : " لَوْ فَعَلَ ، لَأَخَذَتْهُ الْمَلَائِكَةُ عِيَانًا " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once Abu Jahl said: If I see Muhammad (peace be upon him) praying near the Ka'bah, I will go to him and crush his neck. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "If he had advanced to do so, the angels would have seized him before the eyes of everyone."
