ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3423

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَعْلَى ، حَدَّثَنَا حَجَّاجٌ الصَّوَّافُ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " قَضَى رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي الْمُكَاتِبِ يُقْتَلُ ، يُودَى لِمَا أَدَّى مِنْ مُكَاتَبَتِهِ دِيَةَ الْحُرِّ ، وَمَا بَقِيَ دِيَةَ الْعَبْدِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that regarding a mukatab (contracted slave) who has been set free (and someone kills him), the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) gave this ruling: “For the portion of the contract that he has paid, he will be given the blood money of a free man, and for the portion that remains unpaid, for which he is still a slave, the blood money of a slave will be given.”
