ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3420

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ نُمَيْرٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَعْمَشُ ، عَنْ مُسْلِمٍ الْبَطِينِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : أَتَتْهُ امْرَأَةٌ ، فَقَالَتْ : إِنَّ أُمِّي مَاتَتْ ، وَعَلَيْهَا صَوْمُ شَهْرِ ، فَأَقْضِيهِ عَنْهَا ؟ قَالَ : " أَرَأَيْتَكِ لَوْ كَانَ عَلَيْهَا دَيْنٌ ، كُنْتِ تَقْضِينَهُ ؟ " قَالَتْ : نَعَمْ . قَالَ : " فَدَيْنُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ أَحَقُّ أَنْ يُقْضَى " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a woman came to the service of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! My mother has passed away, she had a month of fasts due, can I make them up on her behalf? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Tell me, if your mother had a debt, would you pay it off or not?" She said: Of course. He said: "Then Allah's debt is more deserving of being paid."
