ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3402

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا بَهْزٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَارِثِ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْجَعْدُ الْحِلَى أَبُو عُثْمَانَ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو رَجَاءٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فِيمَا يَرْوِي عَنْ رَبِّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ اللَّهَ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ كَتَبَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَالسَّيِّئَاتِ ، ثُمَّ بَيَّنَ ذَلِكَ ، فَمَنْ هَمَّ بِحَسَنَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا ، كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً ، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا ، كُتِبَتْ لَهُ عَشْرَ حَسَنَاتٍ ، إِلَى سَبْعِ مِائَةِ ضِعْفٍ ، إِلَى أَضْعَافٍ كَثِيرَةٍ ، وَإِنْ هُوَ هَمَّ بِسَيِّئَةٍ فَلَمْ يَعْمَلْهَا ، كَتَبَهَا اللَّهُ لَهُ عِنْدَهُ حَسَنَةً كَامِلَةً ، فَإِنْ عَمِلَهَا ، كُتِبَتْ لَهُ سَيِّئَةً وَاحِدَةً " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "If a person intends to do a good deed and then does it, ten good deeds are written for him as a reward. If he does not do the good deed, then a single good deed is written for him merely for the intention. And if a person intends to commit a sin and then does it, one sin is written against him. But if he does not commit the sin after intending it, then a single good deed is written for him."
