Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) used to say that in the prayers in which the Prophet (peace be upon him) was commanded to recite, he recited, and where he was commanded to remain silent, he remained silent, «﴿وَمَا كَانَ رَبُّكَ نَسِيًّا﴾ [مريم : 64]» "And your Lord is not forgetful." And «﴿لَقَدْ كَانَ لَكُمْ فِي رَسُولِ اللّٰهِ أُسْوَةٌ حَسَنَةٌ﴾ [الأحزاب : 21]» "Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example."
