Hadith 3373

It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man presented a waterskin of wine as a gift to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Wine has become forbidden." Upon hearing this, the man turned to his servant and whispered to him to take it and sell it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him, "What did you say to him?" He replied, "I ordered him to go and sell it." The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "The One who has forbidden its drinking has also forbidden its buying and selling." Thus, on his order, the wine was poured out in the valley of Batha.
