Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) narrates that when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from the plain of Arafat, people began to hasten their mounts. At the command of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), a man announced: "O people! Racing camels and horses is not an act of virtue, so make calmness obligatory upon yourselves." Then, when the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) departed from there, I did not see any mount raising its hands and running swiftly.
