ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3271

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ هِشَامٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ ، عَنْ حَبِيبِ بْنِ أَبِي ثَابِتٍ ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ " أَنَّهُ قَامَ مِنَ اللَّيْلِ ، فَاسْتَنَّ ، ثُمَّ صَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ ، ثُمَّ نَامَ ، ثُمَّ قَامَ ، فَاسْتَنَّ وَتَوَضَّأَ ، وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ . حَتَّى صَلَّى سِتًّا ، ثُمَّ أَوْتَرَ بِثَلَاثٍ ، وَصَلَّى رَكْعَتَيْنِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) woke up at night from sleep, used the miswak, prayed two rak‘ahs, and went back to sleep. Then he woke up again, used the miswak, performed ablution, prayed two rak‘ahs, and went back to sleep. In this way, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) prayed six rak‘ahs, then prayed three witr, and then prayed two rak‘ahs (the Sunnah of Fajr).
