ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3249
اُردوEn
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكِ بْنِ حَرْبٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا وُجِّهَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ إِلَى الْكَعْبَةِ ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، فَكَيْفَ بِمَنْ مَاتَ مِنْ إِخْوَانِنَا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ يُصَلُّونَ إِلَى بَيْتِ الْمَقْدِسِ ؟ فَأَنْزَلَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ وَمَا كَانَ اللَّهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ سورة البقرة آية 143 " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the command for changing the Qiblah was revealed, the people said: "O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What will happen to our companions who used to pray facing Bayt al-Maqdis and passed away in that state?" Upon this, the following verse was revealed: «﴿وَمَا كَانَ اللّٰهُ لِيُضِيعَ إِيمَانَكُمْ﴾ [البقرة : 143]» "Allah will not let your prayers go to waste."
