Hadith 315

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ الْمُسَيَّبِ ، أَنَّ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : إِنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ : " إِنَّ الْمَيِّتَ يُعَذَّبُ بِبُكَاءِ أَهْلِهِ عَلَيْهِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The deceased is punished because of the weeping and wailing of his family over him."
