ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3049

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ مُصْعَبٍ ، حَدَّثَنَا الْأَوْزَاعِيُّ ، عَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ يَسَارٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً مِنْ خَثْعَمَ سَأَلَتْ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ ، وَالْفَضْلُ بْنُ عَبَّاسٍ رَدِيفُ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، إِنَّ فَرِيضَةَ اللَّهِ فِي الْحَجِّ عَلَى عِبَادِهِ أَدْرَكَتْ أَبِي شَيْخًا كَبِيرًا ، لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَسْتَمْسِكَ عَلَى الرَّاحِلَةِ ، أَفَأَحُجُّ عَنْهُ ؟ فَقَالَ : " نَعَمْ ، حُجِّي عَنْ أَبِيكِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the occasion of the Farewell Pilgrimage, a woman from the tribe of Khath'am came to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), at that time Sayyiduna Fadl (may Allah be pleased with him) was riding behind the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). She said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! The obligation of Hajj has been imposed by Allah upon my father, but he has become so old that he cannot even sit on a mount. If I perform Hajj on his behalf, will it be fulfilled? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! You may perform Hajj on behalf of your father."
