ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 3026

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَوَانَةَ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : مَاتَتْ شَاةٌ لِسَوْدَةَ بِنْتِ زَمْعَةَ ، فَقَالَتْ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، مَاتَتْ فُلَانَةُ يَعْنِي الشَّاةَ . فَقَالَ : " فَلَوْلَا أَخَذْتُمْ مَسْكَهَا " ، فَقَالَتْ : نَأْخُذُ مَسْكَ شَاةٍ قَدْ مَاتَتْ ؟ ! فَقَالَ لَهَا رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ : " إِنَّمَا قَالَ اللَّهُ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ قُلْ لا أَجِدُ فِي مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُ إِلا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَوْ دَمًا مَسْفُوحًا أَوْ لَحْمَ خِنْزِيرٍ سورة الأنعام آية 145 ، فَإِنَّكُمْ لَا تَطْعَمُونَهُ إِنْ تَدْبُغُوهُ فَتَنْتَفِعُوا بِهِ " فَأَرْسَلَتْ إِلَيْهَا ، فَسَلَخَتْ مَسْكَهَا ، فَدَبَغَتْهُ ، فَأَخَذَتْ مِنْهُ قِرْبَةً حَتَّى تَخَرَّقَتْ عِنْدَهَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once a goat belonging to Umm al-Mu’minin Sayyidah Sawdah bint Zam’ah (may Allah be pleased with her) died. She presented herself in the court of the Messenger and said: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! Such-and-such goat has died. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Why did you not keep its skin?” She said: Should I keep the skin of a dead goat? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “Allah the Exalted has said: «﴿قُلْ لَا أَجِدُ فِي مَا أُوحِيَ إِلَيَّ مُحَرَّمًا عَلَى طَاعِمٍ يَطْعَمُهُ إِلَّا أَنْ يَكُونَ مَيْتَةً أَوْ دَمًا مَسْفُوحًا أَوْ لَحْمَ خِنْزِيرٍ﴾ [الأنعام : 145]» ‘O Prophet! Say: I do not find in what has been revealed to me anything forbidden to an eater except that it be carrion, or flowing blood, or the flesh of swine.’ Now if you tan it and benefit from it, will you eat it?” So Sayyidah Sawdah (may Allah be pleased with her) sent someone to have its skin removed, and after tanning it, she made a water bag from it, until it eventually wore out with her.
