ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)

(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ عَطَاءِ بْنِ السَّائِبِ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا نَزَلَتْ وَلا تَقْرَبُوا مَالَ الْيَتِيمِ إِلا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ سورة الأنعام آية 152 عَزَلُوا أَمْوَالَ الْيَتَامَى ، حَتَّى جَعَلَ الطَّعَامُ يَفْسُدُ ، وَاللَّحْمُ يُنْتِنُ ، فَذُكِرَ ذَلِكَ لِلنَّبِيِّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، فَنَزَلَتْ وَإِنْ تُخَالِطُوهُمْ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَاللَّهُ يَعْلَمُ الْمُفْسِدَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِ سورة البقرة آية 220 قَالَ : فَخَالَطُوهُمْ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when this blessed verse was revealed: « ﴿وَلَا تَقْرَبُوا مَالَ الْيَتِيمِ إِلَّا بِالَّتِي هِيَ أَحْسَنُ﴾ [الإسراء : 34]» "Do not even go near the wealth of orphans except in the best manner," people separated the wealth of orphans from their own wealth, to the extent that food began to rot and meat started to smell. When this situation was mentioned before the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him), this verse was revealed to him: « ﴿وَإِنْ تُخَالِطُوهُمْ فَإِخْوَانُكُمْ وَاللّٰهُ يَعْلَمُ الْمُفْسِدَ مِنَ الْمُصْلِحِ﴾ [البقرة : 220]» "If you mix them up with yourselves, they are your brothers, and Allah knows who intends reform and who intends corruption." Then they mixed their wealth with the wealth of the orphans.
