ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2998

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ الْمُبَارَكِ ، عَنْ مَعْمَرٍ ، عَنْ يَحْيَى بْنِ أَبِي كَثِيرٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، أَنّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ ، قَالَ لِمَاعِزٍ حِينَ قَالَ : زَنَيْتُ : " لَعَلَّكَ غَمَزْتَ ، أَوْ قَبَّلْتَ ، أَوْ نَظَرْتَ إِلَيْهَا ؟ " ، قَالَ : كَأَنَّهُ يَخَافُ أَنْ لَا يَدْرِيَ مَا الزِّنَا .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when Sayyiduna Ma'iz bin Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) to confess his crime, the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked him: "Perhaps you only flirted with her? Or kissed her? Or looked at her?" In fact, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was concerned that he might not know the actual meaning of adultery.
