مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2978

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا رِبْعِيُّ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنُ إِسْحَاقَ ، حَدَّثَنَا زَيْدُ بْنُ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ وَعْلَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ رَجُلًا خَرَجَ وَالْخَمْرُ حَلَالٌ ، فَأَهْدَى لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ رَاوِيَةَ خَمْرٍ ، فَأَقْبَلَ بِهَا يَقْتَادُهَا عَلَى بَعِيرٍ ، حَتَّى وَجَدَ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ جَالِسًا ، فَقَالَ : " مَا هَذَا مَعَكَ ؟ " قَالَ : رَاوِيَةُ خَمْرٍ أَهْدَيْتُهَا لَكَ . قَالَ : " هَلْ عَلِمْتَ أَنَّ اللَّهَ تَبَارَكَ وَتَعَالَى حَرَّمَهَا " قَالَ : لَا ، قَالَ ، فَإِنَّ اللَّهَ حَرَّمَهَا ؟ " فَالْتَفَتَ الرَّجُلُ إِلَى قَائِدِ الْبَعِيرِ ، وَكَلَّمَهُ بِشَيْءٍ فِيمَا بَيْنَهُ وَبَيْنَهُ ، فَقَالَ : " مَاذَا قُلْتَ لَهُ ؟ " قَالَ : أَمَرْتُهُ بِبَيْعِهَا . قَالَ " إِنَّ الَّذِي حَرَّمَ شُرْبَهَا حَرَّمَ بَيْعَهَا " ، قَالَ : فَأَمَرَ بِعَزَالِي الْمَزَادَةِ فَفُتِحَتْ ، فَخَرَجَتْ فِي التُّرَابِ ، فَنَظَرْتُ إِلَيْهَا فِي الْبَطْحَاءِ مَا فِيهَا شَيْءٌ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that a man brought a waterskin of wine as a gift to the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to meet him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "What is this?" He replied that it was a waterskin of wine which he had brought as a gift for him. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Do you not know that Allah has declared wine to be unlawful?" He said: No. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Allah has made wine unlawful." Upon hearing this, the man turned to his servant and whispered to him to take it and sell it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) asked him: "What did you say to him?" He replied: I ordered him to go and sell it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The One who has forbidden its drinking has also forbidden its buying and selling." Thus, on his order, the wine was poured out in the valley of Batha, and nothing of it remained.
