ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2960

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا عُثْمَانُ بْنُ عُمَرَ ، أَخْبَرَنَا مَالِكُ بْنُ مِغْوَلٍ ، عَنْ سُلَيْمَانَ الشَّيْبَانِيِّ ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ اتَّخَذَ خَاتَمًا ، فَلَبِسَهُ ، ثُمَّ قَالَ : " شَغَلَنِي هَذَا عَنْكُمْ مُنْذُ الْيَوْمِ ، إِلَيْهِ نَظْرَةٌ ، وَإِلَيْكُمْ نَظْرَةٌ " ثُمّ رَمَى بِهِ .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had a ring made and wore it, then said, "My whole day today has been occupied with this; at one moment I would look at it, and at another moment I would look at you." Then the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) threw it away.
