ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2878

(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ ، حَدَّثَنَا مِسْعَرٌ ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مُرَّةَ ، عَنْ سَالِمِ بْنِ أَبِي الْجَعْدِ ، عَنْ أَخِيهِ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : أَرَادَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَنْ يَتَوَضَّأَ مِنْ سِقَاءٍ ، فَقِيلَ لَهُ : إِنَّهُ مَيْتَةٌ . قَالَ : " دِبَاغُهُ يُذْهِبُ خَبَثَهُ ، أَوْ رِجْسَهُ ، أَوْ نَجَسَهُ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that once the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) wanted to perform ablution from a waterskin, so someone informed him that it was made from the skin of a dead animal. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, "Tanning removes its filth and impurity."
