Hadith 284

(حديث موقوف) حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الرَّحْمَنِ ، عَنْ مَالِكٍ ، عَنْ زَيْدِ بْنِ أَسْلَمَ ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ ، عَنْ عُمَرَ ، قَالَ : " لَوْلَا آخِرُ الْمُسْلِمِينَ ، مَا فُتِحَتْ قَرْيَةٌ إِلَّا قَسَمْتُهَا ، كَمَا قَسَمَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ خَيْبَرَ " .
Sayyiduna Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say that if it were not for the consideration of the Muslims who would come later, then every town and city that was conquered, I would have distributed it among the conquerors just as the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) distributed Khaybar.
