Ikrimah (may Allah have mercy on him) says that Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) did not consider eating unripe dates to be good and used to say that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) forbade the delegation of Banu al-Qais from "Maza’", and I fear that what is meant by this is unripe dates.
