It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The night I was taken on the Mi'raj, during the journey I came across a place with a very pleasant fragrance. I asked, 'Jibreel! What is this fragrance?' He replied, 'This is the fragrance of the maidservant who used to comb the hair of Pharaoh's daughter and her children.' I asked, 'Tell me her story.' He said: One day, this maidservant was combing Pharaoh's daughter's hair when the comb fell from her hand. She picked it up saying, 'In the name of Allah.' Pharaoh's daughter asked, 'Do you mean my father by that?' She replied, 'No, rather my Lord and your father's Lord is Allah.' Pharaoh's daughter said, 'Shall I tell my father about this?' She replied, 'Yes, do so.' Pharaoh's daughter conveyed this to her father, and he summoned the maidservant. When she came, Pharaoh said, 'O so-and-so! Do you have a Lord besides me?' She replied, 'Yes! My Lord and your Lord is Allah.' Upon hearing this, Pharaoh ordered a copper cow to be made and heated it intensely. Then he ordered that she and her children be thrown into it. The maidservant said, 'I have a request from you.' Pharaoh asked, 'What is it?' She said, 'My wish is that when we are burned and become ashes, our bones—mine and my children's—be gathered together in a cloth and buried.' Pharaoh said, 'This is your right upon us (we will do so).' Then Pharaoh ordered her children to be thrown in first. So, before her eyes, her children were thrown one by one into the blazing furnace, until when it was the turn of her infant child, she hesitated a little because of him. Seeing this, by Allah's power and miracle, the infant spoke: 'Mother! Jump in without fear, for the punishment of this world is lighter than the torment of the Hereafter.' So she jumped in." Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) said: Four children spoke in their infancy: Jesus (peace be upon him), the child in the story of Jurayj, the witness in the story of Joseph (peace be upon him), and the son of the maidservant who used to comb Pharaoh's daughter's hair.
