ومن مسند بني هاشمFrom the Musnad of Banu Hashim
مُسْنَدُ عَبْدِ اللّٰهِ بْنِ الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ عَبْدِ الْمُطَّلِبِ رَضِيَ اللّٰهُ عَنْهُمَاMusnad of Abdullah ibn al-Abbas ibn Abd al-Muttalib (may Allah be pleased with them)
Hadith 2774
اُردوEn
(حديث مرفوع) حَدَّثَنَا خَلَفُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ ، حَدَّثَنَا إِسْرَائِيلُ ، عَنْ سِمَاكٍ ، عَنْ عِكْرِمَةَ ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ ، قَالَ : " لَمَّا نَزَلَ تَحْرِيمُ الْخَمْرِ ، قَالُوا : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ، الَّذِينَ مَاتُوا وَهُمْ يَشْرَبُونَ الْخَمْرَ ؟ فَنَزَلَتْ : لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا سورة المائدة آية 93 إِلَى آخِرِ الْآيَةِ " .
It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that when the command regarding the prohibition of alcohol was revealed, the noble Companions (may Allah be pleased with them) submitted: O Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him)! What will happen to our brothers who passed away before this prohibition and used to drink it? Upon this, the following verse was revealed: « ﴿لَيْسَ عَلَى الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا وَعَمِلُوا الصَّالِحَاتِ جُنَاحٌ فِيمَا طَعِمُوا﴾ [المائدة : 93]» "There is no blame upon those who believe and do righteous deeds for what they consumed (or drank) before."
