It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade the use of (drinks prepared in) dabba’, hantam, naqir, and muzaffat, and also forbade mixing raisins and dates together to make nabidh. The narrator asked Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both): Tell me, if a person puts nabidh in a green earthenware jug like a bottle in the morning and drinks it at night, what is the ruling? He replied: Will you not refrain from that which the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) forbade?
