It is narrated from Hazrat Umm Salamah (may Allah be pleased with her) that when Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) fell ill with her final illness, I was nursing her. One day I came to her and found her in such a good state as I had not seen during her days of illness. Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) had gone out for some work at that time. Hazrat Fatimah (may Allah be pleased with her) said to me: "Mother! Prepare water for me to bathe." I prepared water for her to bathe. She bathed herself in such an excellent manner that I had not seen her bathe like that during her illness before. Then she said: "Mother! Give me my new clothes." I gave her those clothes, she put them on, and said: "Mother! Make my bed in the middle of the house." I did so, and she came and lay down facing the Qiblah, placed her hand under her cheek, and said: "Mother! Now my soul is about to be taken. I have already bathed, so let no one remove my clothes from my body." Thus, her soul was taken at that very place, and when Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) came, I informed him.
