حَدَّثَنَا عَفَّانُ , حَدَّثَنَا هَمَّامٌ , قَالَ : حدثَنَا عَاصِمُ بْنُ بَهْدَلَةَ , عَنْ أَبِي صَالِحٍ , عَنْ مُعَاذِ بْنِ جَبَلٍ , أَنَّهُ إِذْ حُضِرَ , قَالَ : أَدْخِلُوا عَلَيَّ النَّاسَ , فَأُدْخِلُوا عَلَيْهِ , فَقَالَ : إِنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ , يَقُولُ : " مَنْ مَاتَ لَا يُشْرِكُ بِاللَّهِ شَيْئًا , جَعَلَهُ اللَّهُ فِي الْجَنَّةِ " , وَمَا كُنْتُ أُحَدِّثُكُمُوهُ إِلَّا عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ , وَالشَّهِيدُ عَلَى ذَلِكَ عُوَيْمِرٌ أَبُو الدَّرْدَاءِ , فَأَتَوْا أَبَا الدَّرْدَاءِ , فَقَالَ : صَدَقَ أَخِي , وَمَا كَانَ يُحَدِّثُكُمْ بِهِ إِلَّا عِنْدَ مَوْتِهِ .
It is narrated from Hazrat Mu'adh bin Jabal that when his final time approached, he said, "Call the people to me." When the people came, he said, "I heard the Prophet say: Whoever dies in such a state that he does not associate anyone with Allah, Allah will admit him to Paradise. I am telling you this at the time of my death." And its witness, 'Uwaymir, when he reached Hazrat Abu Darda (may Allah be pleased with him), he said, "My brother has spoken the truth, and he was to narrate this hadith to you only at the time of his death."
