Hadith 27470

حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ , عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ دِينَارٍ , عَنْ عُرْوَةَ بْنِ عَامِرٍ , عَنْ عُبَيْدِ بْنِ رِفَاعَةَ الزُّرَقِيِّ , قَالَ : قَالَتْ أَسْمَاءُ : يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ , إِنَّ بَنِي جَعْفَرٍ تُصِيبُهُمْ الْعَيْنُ , أَفَأَسْتَرْقِي لَهُمْ ؟ قَالَ : " نَعَمْ , فَلَوْ كَانَ شَيْءٌ سَابِقٌ الْقَدَرَ , لَسَبَقَتْهُ الْعَيْنُ " .
It is narrated from Hazrat Asma (may Allah be pleased with her) that once she submitted in the court of the Messenger: O Messenger of Allah! The children of Ja'far are affected by the evil eye, can I perform ruqyah (spiritual healing) on them? The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "Yes! If anything could overtake destiny, it would be the evil eye."
