It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) recited Qunoot Nazilah continuously for a whole month in the prayers of Dhuhr, Asr, Maghrib, Isha, and Fajr. At the end of every prayer, after raising his head from the bowing (ruku) of the second rak'ah and saying «سَمِعَ اللّٰهُ لِمَنْ حَمِدَهُ», he would supplicate against a tribe of Banu Sulaym, Ri'l, Dhakwan, 'Usayyah, and those who gave them refuge. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) had sent his companions (may Allah be pleased with them) to these tribes to invite them to Islam, but these people martyred them.
