It is narrated from Sayyiduna Ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that on the day of the Battle of the Trench, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) fought against the enemy, and because of this, the Asr prayer was delayed from its prescribed time. Seeing this, the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said: "O Allah! Fill their houses and graves with fire, for they did not let us perform the Asr prayer."
